When calling Restoration Counseling TN, Angela will personally speak with you to set up an appointment and to briefly explain the counseling process. Sessions usually last 50 minutes and are scheduled according to your needs. For most people, sessions are scheduled once a week or once every two weeks. In some cases, it may be necessary to schedule an appointment twice a week and then gradually move down to once a week. During your first session, Angela will discuss this process in more detail and create a personalized counseling plan for you. The amount of time the whole counseling process takes will depend on your specific issues personal commitment and progress.
Counseling Philosophy
As a professional, Angela Landry integrates a variety of methods and techniques into her practice. As she deals with complex issues, she is active and direct. Her main methodology is family systems theory. This area of expertise is specialized education in family and relational systems, and enables her to understand the dynamics of individuals and families, how their backgrounds contribute, and the roles they function in now. Other methodologies used are: emotionally focused therapy, psychodynamic, expenential, motivational and cognitive/behavioral therapy In addtion she incorporates here specialized training in EMDR + Brainspotting, Equine Assisted Pyschotherapy and more into treatment. Regardless of the approach, each client is treated with utmost respect while bringing about healing in those complex areas.
How Does Counseling Work?
Effective Counseling is a cooperative venture requiring the combined resources of the client and therapist working together. The process usually consists of three phases: assessment, intervention, and termination.
- *Assessment: this phase enables Angela to get to know you, understand your problems and concerns, and to identify and establish your goals for counseling.
- *Intervention: this phase focuses on helping you deal with issues you are facing, achieve personal growth, resolve problems, and/or make decisions.
- *Termination: this last phase involves a review of your original goals, evaluation of your progress, and recommendations for any further steps you may need to take.
Confidentiality is a key component of the therapeutic relationship. This allows clients a safe place to walk through their issues. Your right to confidentiality will be carefully maintained and will not be disclosed without your written permission, except in cases of possible harm to yourself or others (especially the elderly and children) or a criminal court subpoena.
